I am simply astounded with how a company with so many major complaints on the WWW, can stay in business. They screw you, them, us & me, and the money just keeps rollin' in for them. Are we stupid? When a company proves itself to be insensitive, dictatorial, intimidating, unscrupulous and so on, one might conclude that they would go "belly up". Hmm! So here is ATT, with thousands of complaints on the web (not counting all of those afraid to lodge one), crapping on their clients, treating their own employees like dung (strikes all over in the news), and yet ... like the damn energizer bunny ..... they go on with their bad self - to hell with our rights!

Welcome to AT&T where customer service doesn't exist. We have the right to change and/or alter your contract without your consent. When we use the sales pitch "UNLIMITED" data, it is our way to bait you in. We will eventually switch on you, because there is no such thing as UNLIMITED at AT&T. When you see weird charges on your bills *ahem* "taxes" *ahem* "phantom data usage", it is not our fault and there is NOTHING we can do about it. Even when caught red handed, it is never our fault. We like to blame the system. If you receive drop calls, our TOWERS ARE DOWN (AGAIN). Our AT&T reps are paid to do nothing. Not like they would know what they're doing anyway. Therefore, don't bother calling us. If you decide to call anyways, don't hate the long hours of waiting time, the 5-10 time transfers explaining and re-explaining to different reps your reason for calling, and/or the accidental disconnections. WE DON'T CARE! We make more enough than enough from the people who are too busy to look over their bills each month to purchase other carriers and monopolize the wireless industry. Thank you so very much for NOT calling AT&T. We hope your problems will resolve on its own. Don't bother contacting Better Business Bureau or FCC because we will pay them off. Btw, read the fine prints on the contract that we changed/altered without your consent. It is our best defense. =)

WARNING..If you change your phone # say because your getting unwanted phone calls..and the prefix # is changed its like starting a new account. I got tagged $177.00 2 times the second one was because i asked to move my billing date up 3 days because im on a fixed income and needed to pay on the !st of each month. $177.00 TWICE for NOTHINGness...AND THIS HAPPENS TO WHO knows HoW Many PEOPLE in a years Time/ Probably at least a billion dollars stolen From People every YEAR !!!!!!!

ATT added an unwanted feature on my account. This seems like an easy fix, but the problem is they do it on purpose. I used to work for the company and the mangers make the reps slam peoples accounts to get feaqture numbers up.

I signed up for ATT DSL in June 2009. I was quoted at $35 for service WITHOUT a CONTRACT plus $10 off if I combined it with my cell phone bill. I had the address wrong (new house) and they had to cancel the order and set up a new one. On the day service was to be tuned on, I call to find that my 2nd account had been cancelled because the account number they had assigned me was a duplicate. So I got a 3rd account number. A week after my sevice was turned on it crashed. it took me hours on the phone for a wekk to get someone to come out and look at it. They did fix it and everything was fine. Till 09/01/09. I am moving out of my house unexpectedly and I called to cancel my service. They informed me that I had a $99 cancellation fee. I said what are you talking about, I don't have a contract. They said when I registered my account, they informed me that I was getting a service I DIDN"T ORDER and I had checked the I" Agree" box to agree to the contract. I did no such thing. They are trying to STEAL my money and I am trying to fight it!

I bought a Go-phone on prepay since i was visiting from the UK and I didn't want to be chargede for roaming. I was staying in Minnetonka for about two months and I received a bill from at&t charging me $50 for no reason at all! I didn't even get any talktime (since I was on prepay and I had to put in money in my balance), and when I called them up they said I had signed a two-year agreement which I never did so all this time I paid 50 bucks for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and they deactivated my account! In the UK you get a MUCH better choice of handsets at a much more reasonable price. AT&T offers you a piece of shit for $120 AND a 2 year agreement. Pathetic.

When I had AT&T DSL, it constantly disrupted my AT&T phone service, one time for almost a month straight! I would not have even been able to dial 911 in the event of an emergency. I had AT&T technicians in twice, at a cost of $35.00 each time. The first repairman told me to get another phone and said my whole house had to be re-wired. The second guy said that was baloney. I had my own electrician come in and check out everything, at a cost of $170.00. I ran up my cell phone in overage charges to the tune of over $200.00 trying to get the problem fixed by AT&T, WHO KEPT ME ON THE LINE FOR HOURS AND HOURS with various customer dis-service representatives and technicians (some of whom I couldn't even understand.) Finally, after spending another 50 bucks for a DSL specialist, I was informed that the DSL was the culprit and nothing could be done. AT&T VERIFIED THIS! So, in order to have a working landline phone, I had to get rid of my DSL. And they charged me a $200.00 "early termination fee" and would not stop harassing me for over a year despite my explanations to them! They themselves caused the problem, couldn't fix it, yet wanted to penalize me for fixing the problem. BTW, I always paid my DSL and phone bills on time, even when my service was off, and they credited me a lousy 9 dollars. And what if I had an emergency and could not dial 911? I asked the AT&T rep, how would he like it if some company jepardized HIS family's safety?!

AT&T charged my sister $597. for 2 months of service for U-verse, Internet and a phone. She has a legal payee who handles her bills, so the bills were paid on time, but AT&T kept saying the bill wasn't paid, but it was and she has proof. So, after only 2 months of service, AT&T shut everything off anyway, then continued sending bill after bill for the same thing. Finally, after paying them all of that money, it should have only been $230. for the 2 months of service. UNBELIEVABLE! Then, today (September 9, 2009) my sister got ANOTHER bill from AT&T for the same thing! What is going on?! Where does it end?! I am not with AT&T and I never will be. No way in hell do I want to go through that! AT&T is obviously out of control and the consumer is the victim here. AT&T did this sort of thing back in the late 80's when they nearly went out of business. They lost their customer base because of this sort of thing, but recovered when a new CEO took over. It became the "new" AT&T, and their service and fees actually became better! But, now here we are again, the old AT&T of the 80's, doing what they used to do. NO THANK YOU.

I purchased an Iphone and have nothing but problems. I drop over 50% of my calls. Have waisted countless hours of my time troubleshooting with ATT. Their customer service is clueless, sperting out canned answers on a computer screen. I will not give up I pay way to much for service that does not work.

I had put my husband and son on AT&T cell phone plan, and they told me that they could cancel anytime and I will not be charged cancellation free, when my son cancelled , I was charged 175 dollars cancellation fee.
My son had a warrenty on a cell phone he bought, after three months it broke and they will not replace it, saying that he dropped it, which he did not, then he bought another phone, same thing happened after four months it went dead. This time we took it to the store to show them that it has not been dropped and they said that his warrenty was only on the first phone, so he decided to go with another company and we asked if he will be charged for leaving early and they assured us that he won't be because he was just an add on

I've paided my internet, phone bill and satilite same time every month for 12 yrs.suddenly att takes over sbc a couple 3 years ago and im on a fixed income ,so im a little late every month but they know this allready,of which i do pay a rediculous late fee for,,, thats ok no prob, but now theyre calling harrassing me, sending letters,, still i pay the bill same time monthly,,, like save a frickin tree allready,,,, plus the slammed me on a service i never ordered or asked for and collected and never gave me the promised refund,,,, screw there policy,,,, i have policy too. its keep ur crap up ill replace att

I am a victum of lies by att they lied to me about the long distance services i had and when i called them to ask them why all the charges they said that they changed my plan with them because i no longer qualify for their services of long distance i am not getting anyying from them because i chose not to have their internet and phone service , they sent me a letter in the mail charging me now for long distance in which i did not know they did , the biill going from 46.09 per month to 73.00 per month and my bill is never the same i am done with these people.

I just looked at my bill for this month and was amazed to see how much a 10 minute phone call to China cost me from my home phone $64.90. That's $6.49 a minute! I pay 1/10 th of that with my mobile carrier.When I called customer service to verify that, she told me that I don't have an"international plan and that is the posted rate". When I told her that I pay much much less with my mobile cariier, she said everyone has different rates! Unbelievable to say the least, but I have no one to blame but myself. Oh and another thing......funny how they play around with their bundles deals where if you try to lower a service your monthly payment will actually go up

Get this, I’m In high school, Senior and I of coarse still live with my parents in north Florida. For the longest time AT&T use to Harass my parents about the phone bill if it was even one day late, two days it would be shut off without
warning. Luckily that doesn’t happen anymore but it didn’t end our problems with AT&T’s bullshit. We also have their DSL internet service. When we first
agreed to get AT&T internet they tried to sell us their own modem for…I think $100.00 At least in that range. The modem would only cover up to 2 maybe three computers at a time, and since I have a large family we have about five on all the time. Due to their crappy router we went out and bought one from the store plus a router for less than what AT&T charged. I Set up all the computers and the internet worked fine for several months, then down the road our service went to shit. Lag, web pages not loading, and no connectivity at all. What does AT&T have to say to this “Buy our modem…”Screw that, After hours of work and no cost I got it to work again up until now 01-25-10. AT&T screws with your service behind your back just because you don’t own
one their shitty products.That’s like Steve Jobs f_____g up some random strangers Windows just because you don't use Mac.

Went overseas on humanitarian mission. Bought $200/200MB data package and "international texting package" Only made a hand full of short regular calls back to the states. AT&T is attempting to bill me over $1,000. And you should hear all the reaons why they say that is.

I have an AT&T Go Phone and it randomly informes me that I have lost $.20 in my account every few hours. I didn't send or recieve a text, call, or anything, so what's going on? Why is AT&T randomly decreasing the money on my phone so that I have to go buy more phone cards? This is a rip off! So I go to the website and there is absoloutely no number that I can call to speak with someone from AT&T, I can only speak with a computer which asks me, "If you would like to add money to your account, say yes..." Why would I add more money? I'm trying to talk to someone to help me so that AT&T can fix the problem.

I really hate about everything at&t.Everything they told me was a big lie.First, they said that my bill was $25 per month,but i receive $40 every month.They never told me anything about taxes&other hidden fees.Second,They said that i'd get rebate in 2 weeks,but it's been more than 5 months,and i haven't gotten anything.Now they told me that they can't give me reward card because i didn't get cable tv. i hate them and i wish i could go to the court.

I work in a small office, and we do not use AT&T as a phone company. For almost three years now they send a rep around to do a "courtesy check" of our phone bills to make sure that we're being billed correctly. Like I said, we don't use AT&T. AT&T claim that they "have recently lowered the rates" and they want to make sure that the company we do use passed the rate change on to us. Again, the problem is that its none of AT&T business who we use for phone service or how much we pay. They just want to find out who we use and what we're paying for service. The courtesy check is a scam and the visit is fraud.

I've been fihgting with At&T for the last 4 months for discrepancies on my bills, and also they have never honor the plans they offered, always charging extra money every single months, I've have talk to a lot of customer service rep. and supervisors, and always they said that they fixed the bill, and the next month the charges are higher, and no credits offered were made. AT&T are a scam company. It will be my suggestion to every body send a letter or email to the cunsumer protection so when they received all the complains start investigating this company.

I was a satisfied customer with my AT&T gophone - my nightmare began when I took out a contracted plan. Free phone didnt work - I had to pay for another! Plan with limited services ended up costing me more than an unlimited pre-pay phone! The bill reads like jibberish with strange adjustments and charges. I feel like I am ripped off every month by odd charges on the bill. What is a Telecom relay switch service fund anyway? No wonder way they push paperless billing! An additional phone to my service that was suppose to be only 9.99 and included free activation and a free phone - it ended up costing me over 150.00!! I am on limited income - I have to be able to budget service! I am surprised and shocked every month! This morning, I have placed my phones - and bill in a box and mailed it back to them. TO HELL WITH THIS CRAP! What can they do to me - they have my phone so they cannot call to harrass me. Overall complaint - you get promised one thing - and get another - unacceptable! MORE PEOPLE SHOULD JUST SEND BACK THEIR PHONES!

Have had service with AT & Ripoff for approx 5 yrs now. When I signed up for service I only wanted internet service because I have a cell phone and no use for a land line. I signed up for satelite internet and was told that I had to have the home phone to get internet service. Well to cut the story short, I come to find out I didn't need a land line meanwhile I have donated approx $1200 to AT& Ripoff over the years for a landline I have never used! So I called and cancelled the landline and received a notice in the mail stating that my internet service had gone up $10 per month! Go figure.

I called and canceled my service in March of 2009 and they continued to bill me through June. I told them about this problem and even pointed out that they sent me boxes with pre paid postage that I used to return there equipment witch they confirmed they received. I moved out of the apartment and they continued to bill me. I explained this many times on the phone and now they have sent me to collections and they keep harassing me. I am tired of it and I want it to stop but pure principal is stopping me form just paying the balance of $130.00 I have more than enough money to pay it but I know I don’t owe it and I know AT&T has way more money than I do. Much of witch is probably from me. I hope this email gets to someone that can help me stop these people from ripping myself and all the other poor people that don’t have the time or patients to deal with this. Or are just scared of all the treats to there precious credit score. At this point I could care less but I think its wrong that they continue to do this year after year and day after day and nobody has stopped them yet. Please help all of us!!!

I took the internet off my phone plan because I got it at home. A few months later they started charging me internet use (the pay per use) I will not pay for such charges I didnt use. Now a collection agency says I owe AT&T $994.00. NO WAY am I paying that. Beware when you buy a new Sansung phone that automatically downloads your email etc. Beware if you are in Canada or any other country you will be hit with download charges without your knowledge. I went for a weekend to Canada, my phone downloaded emaisl without my knwoledge. I was hit with a $900 charge. Called ATT they would not budge. This is a scam that ATT runs.

Att sent offer to bundle my land line and internet service for 59.95 a month. I(out of stupity with the terable service with my att wireless) I called att service rep. He promised me that my monthly bill would only be 68.85 all taxes and fees included ( i asked this three times before agreeing. i was also promised a free wireless router. I just got my bill $108.61 called customer service and was told that i didn't understand that there sales rep. wasn't supposed to tell me what my final bill would be? with more runarounds from there on. Att is a corrupt company run by crimminals. please post if you are willing to joine me in a class action law suite.

Attempted to download a ringtone from a site offering 1 free tone. After realizeing they are sending me a tone they chose, not the one I selected, I cancel the download. I was never notified by my wonderful Motorola phone that data was being used to download this tone. I thought it was attacthed as MMS.
Anyways, it charged me $9.99 for "Ringtones/AnswerTones/Games" and an additional $7.75 for GPRS. Can someone explain to me how ATT can detect what I'm doing, through an 'independent ' site (which is a joke as we al know all these companies are owned by Satan himself), with non-branded software on an originally T-Mobile phone, as to charge me for Ringtones, AnswerTones & Games' ?
7.75 is outrageous for a 30sec. audio file,which I assumed would come through MMS anyway (I have unlimited messaging), but the $9.99 charge makes no sense to me! This was NEVER explained to me, and is absurd to say the least! It also claims that I was using 'data' for nearly 13 mintues, which is just downright funny.

I was with Cingular Wireless for five years and was happy, as soon as at&t took over I received a bill for $700 I paid it reluctantly, then the next month my bill was twelve hundred. I had two phones on my plan me and my husband, we are not busy people so we didn't use the phone often we talked to each other mostly, I worked full time and didn't use the phone during day often, so basically the charges ws bogus. They sent me a bill that wasn't itemized when I called to get a full bill showing my charges it never came, after three months of trying to get a bill to explain the charges with no avail I gave up, so now I have a fifteen hundred dollar bill on my credit report that I refuse to pay.
I also have had problems with at&t cable internet and phone. First it was supposed to be a bundle for $100 a month, well once I received my first bill it was almost $200 but I understand the first bill is always more so no problem. One day my service was disconnected I called they gave me direct tv number, to make a long story short , at&t wasn't yet connected with direct tv which no one told me and I ended up paying a separate bill for about $150. After months of paying at least $200 and the "connection" never happening I ended the service.

I have been paying AT&T for as long as 20 years give or take,phones for my family,which is about 200.00 a month, We signed up for the unlimited internet aircards when it first started and was grandfathered in later,when they went to 5g,so we didnt have the 5g limit,. on 10/5/2010 they cut me off, they sent a message by way of the aircard,saying my data usage was to high,ok what do they not understand about unlimited,anyway they said that letters were sent out back in july to all there customers,of which we never received,I know we downloaded alot,watch netflix and so on,I know there lying dogs,they just want to get your last dime.I'm sick of them,as soon as my contract expires,I will cancel all phone along with the aircard and take my buisness somewhere else, I'm going back to dial up its my only other choice for now,and giveiup my fun times on the internet,I hope one day these people get sued for all there evil doings..I feel a little better having vented this.thanks...Aaron

Canada data plan costs me $850 for 3 days of marginal usage. I was very careful not to use my phone because I knew they would be stealing from me. Even with my very careful attempt to limit the data charges, they billed me $850 and shut off my service. When I called them they reduced the fee to $200 a month - of course if I remember and play the game I can cancel the monthly service charge. The same service from Rogers Network - the carrier partner ATT uses in Canada is $25 for unlimited data. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS

I PURCHASED 2 CELL PHONES AND A MICROCELL ON 8/3. I WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL THE MICROCELL. I SPPOKE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE, TECH SUPPORT AND ONE ENGINEER EVERY WEEK DAY, FOR HOURS AT AT TIME, AND COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL MORE THAN I WISH TO ADMIT, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE THE MICROCELL WORK DUE TO ISSUES WITH SYNCHRONIZIN THEIR DATA BASE WITH USPS, AND THEN E911 DATA BASE. BECAUSE I HAD 30 DAYS TO RETURN THIS JUNK, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE STORE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE ON 8/30, THE 27TH DAY. I RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK. THEN THE PROBLEMS BEGAN...I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY SAYING I OWED 437 AND CHANGE FOR EARLY TERMINATION. AFTER A MONTH LONG FIGHT, DURING WHICH AT&T WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THAT I HAD RETURNED THE JUNK, THEY FINALLY WERE ABLE TO DO THAT, AND CALLED TO TELL ME THAT A SUPERVISOR HAD VERIFIED THAT I DID NOT OWE THIS MONEY. APPARENTLY SOMEONE FAILED TO TELL THE COLLECTION AGENCY, BECAUSE TWO DAYS LATER (10/14/10), I RECEIVED ANOTHER DUNNING CALL FROM THE AGENCY, PRINCE PARKER AND ASSOCIATES, (AFTER I HAD TOLD THEM NOT TO CONTACT ME AGAIN, A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL FTC RULES). I AM FILING A COMPLIANT WITH THE FTC, THE FCC, AND THE PA. ATTY GENERAL. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH AT&T. THEIR LEFT HAND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE RIGHT HAND IS DOING. THE ONLY COMMUNICATION THAT EXISTS BETWEEN CUSTOMER SERVICE, TECH SUPPORT, AND ENGINEERING IS A CUMBERSOM EMAIL REPORTING SYSTEM. MY ADVICE.....STAY AWAY FROM ANY AT&T BUSINESS.

When you leave AT&T, they will charge you International Roaming fees, AT&T Radio and more charges just for nothing!! just because you leave to other company plus 375$ dollars or so with a total of almost 600$. I have been 5 years with AT&T, they always want to rip you off so you have no choice to pour the number back to them

I ordered at&t services for homephone and internet which they told me that the phone services were 26.00 a month and internet was 19.00 a month and i got this huge ass bill for 148.00 and im like what the hell what are all these charges and when i called at&t they told me that someone had added on charges fopr my bill and they were long distance charges and im like why the hell are people adding on to my bill and they told me there was NOTHING they could do about it they the next month rolls around and the bill comes up to be 224.00 and im like what in the fuck is going on and i called again and this guy told me that these where my charges for the month and im like why the fuck is the bill going up and up and hes like the same thing these are you current charges and he told me I changed my service but i sure as hell didn't change anything on my account and ive been getting charged for something i did not authorize and he kept saying i did and i kept telling him no the hell i didn't change anything on my account and before i hung up i told him that i was going to call my fucking lawyer and im going to sue the hell out of at&t im going to get my justice i deserve and they're going to stop ripping innocent people off. every month people find hidden charges on their account and for what absolutely nothing.
Webmaster's Note: At&t is notorius for that very thing; and the U.S. Gov' will never go against them. Why? Simple; At&t brings in an immense amount of tax revenue - thus the reason mega-corps like them get away with this shit. Do like I did, tell them to get screwed and go get a Net10 Phone. I did exactly that two and a half years ago and have never been sorry that I did. You'll thank me for that information later.

I have a family plan wireless account with AT&T with 3 lines. A couple of weeks ago using the online site I added another line and purchased anew phone for my son. At the time of the transaction I had to take an individual plan for the new line and was informed once the phone was activated I could switch it to the family plan.
Well guess what when I called to switch it to the family plan I’m told my plan only allows three lines and I need to upgrade and pay more if I want to convert the new line to the family plan.
Why can’t AT&T tell me this when I was adding the new line? It seems to yet another way AT&T is extorting its customers with fees and changes that are not disclosed at the time of the purchase.

AT&T Has been charging me for home phone service for years which I didn't need or use. They lied & told me I needed home phone service in order to get their internet. Turns out I don't. They ripped me off & charged me $50 for internet service which was only supposed to cost $20 per month. Beward, AT&T is evil.

contract expired 1/09/11. I ask to close my account 1/10/11. I was told they cant close the account unlest I pay the bill that was due on 1/25/11.
now 2/05/11 i recieve a bill, so I called them and their telling me will be close 2/10/11. I refuse to pay and I WILL NOT PAY. F**K ripoffs. Im in the U.S. Virgin Islands

I called to have my internet service with AT&T disconnected as I wanted to go with wireless, which they don't have in our area. I changed my service and not AT&T wants a 900.00 disconnect fee. They renewed my service in Feb. without asking. I was with Bellsouth then they sold to AT&T. My original 3 years was over a long time ago. I have always paid bill on time. Tomorrow I am calling our Attorney General's office and FCC regarding this. I do not want their internet service it is slow and cuts me off all the time. I am going to fight them on this one. I have not signed contract of any sort with them and they never notified me that my 3 years was up to ask if I wanted to continue the service. When I first got the DSL installed there was no contract to be signed. AT&T is too darned big for their britches and they haven't heard the last from me. And being on fixed income I can't pay them what they want and they won't break it up by months on phone bill and I cannot pay for two internet services.

After being with this company for about 5 years I finally had my service terminated this afternoon. This company not only lies, cheats and steals from its loyal paying customers but it can also give two squirts of piss about your personal information and other sensitive material. These lowlifes allowed a total stranger to start up phone service using my social security number in a state I do not live or visit and never even bothered to inform me in any way, shape or form about the so-called unpaid balance these theives managed to accumulate. Instead, I've spent the last few months receiving calls from some of the most vulgar and digusting collection agencies this world has to offer. If you value your privacy than stay as far away from this company as possible.

bought an Hp laptop. the LCD cracked. HP said i must have dropped it but i never did such a thing. they want a fortune to repair it. the warranty does not cover cracked LCD. i dont think we are being treated fairly by HP.

AT&T called me about a new promotion offering internet for $20 a month for 1 yr. Recently after going through my financials I realized that they've actually been charging $47 a month for DSL. I have worked in call centers, this is bull. They can't just lie to people like this.

AT&T had a representative tell me wrong information leading to the disconnection of my services. They wanted me to deposit another $450 to restore the service. The customer can only go by what a representative tells them, which I did. We the people need to bring a class action suit against them. I feel there’s strength in numbers. I know I’m not the only one who’s been mislead. I’m going to do everything in my power to right this wrong.

I have had internted with AT&T since June of 2010. It was automatically coming out of my account. I recently changed banks and went to tell them so it could continue to come out and I cant get anywhere with them b/c they say that the account is not under my name, which it is bc i am the one who set it up. It's under my SSN and DOB. Apparently the 4 digit passcode I told them is incorrect also. There is no way I can get them to get my internet changed over. Now I am without service and cant do anything and will probably suffer late charged and all that other BS

Got an HTC Inspire 4G: GPS does not work called AT&T and all they tell me is it is an HTC problem so I call HTC and they tell me it is bull that AT&T said that and then they transfer me back to AT&T...I am on the phone with AT&T right now for the 8th time for this issue and finally just lost it on the person on the phone and she is trying to help me it is sad that you have to threaten to get rid of them to be able to get somewhere. I have a smart phone that is no more than a paper weight if I can not use it for what it was made for. If they would not screw me more to get rid of them I would have done it 3 weeks ago when this problem started. Their support and device replacement (with a referb) sucks!!!

I have a complaint similar to Rosie's. When I ordered high-speed internet with AT&T, I was told I'd be paying $19.95/mo WITHOUT a contract. So I signed up, but then my order summary said that I'd be paying $48/month. So when I called AT&T and spoke with another agent, she told me that the first agent had been mistaken and that it was $29.95/mo, and offered to give me a credit on my first bill, so I said fine. But my first bill actually came out to be over $100 (but I didn't get it until 2 months afterwards, so the bill actually covered about 2 months of service). Still, I was being charged $48/mo, so I spoke with a third agent, who agreed to cut the amount on my bill by more than half, so I did end up paying 20-something dollars/mo for my first 2 months. The agent also told me I could expect to be paying $29.95/mo from now on, but I recently received my October bill and it still says $48/mo. Ugh, so I called AT&T again--twice in one day--and both reps told me I was wrong and that I should pay $48, and the second rep even started yelling at me on the phone, so I just politely hung up. Wow, I don't think I've ever encountered a MAJOR company that cheats, lies and even yells to its customers to this extent. Did I mention that my family had been a loyal AT&T customer for over 30 years? But AT&T doesn't seem to care about keeping its current customers or attracting former ones. We should seriously organize a mass protest against AT&T!!

ATT signed me up for UVerse telling me that the first month is free (with $36 install fee) and subsequent bills would be around $60-$70 per month for tv (u100) and internet. After just over 1 month with their service, they hit me with a $221 bill. $141 for the first month alone that was supposed to be free. When I called them they told me a completely different story than when I signed up. They now say that I needed to cancel in the first month to get it for free. WTF. if they had stated that in the beginning, I never would have agreed to sign up for their service. They refuse to credit my bill at all so I cancelled on the spot. If they think I'm going to pay them a penny, they're clearly mistaken. I can't believe a company this large is allowed to completely lie at the point of sale only to rip people off a month later. If anyone decides to do business with AT&T, I recommend you get everything they promise in writing. Also make them tell you (in writing) how much your first bill and subsequent bills are going to be

I called ATT to cancel service because my bill was getting to high. The CSR assured me that she could do better I was told to choose a new phone and it would be $100mo for both smart phones. I gave in now I'm stuck in contract with them and got a bill of $230 today, wow they are very good at decieving people, I dont know what to do.

AT&T used to be great--they would always remove accidental data usage because we do not use the internet, about 6 months ago they started refusing to do this. it is almost next to impossible to not hit a button that starts a connection, we stop it as soon as we can.i argue until they remove it-once 3 people refused, then i chatted online and the rep removed it! they have lied to me repeatedly as to what i am actually being charged for. finallly a tech told me when you hit accidentally,no matter how short you're charge for 1MG-then they add up all accidents until it reaches that amount-then i guesss they start it again-they even admitted they can tell it is accidental because of the short usage time. you're only option is to get a data block-then you can't send pictures,or pay for a block that blocks the internet-they don't reduce the charges if you can't send pictures. i have been lied to repetedly about what the charges were for and even told i got charged when a block was on. can't believe they would lie so much and change their story every time. as soon as our last contracts are up we are done with them. one rep told me she could see the problem on our service and she could see why i was so frustrate she said shesaidshe would put a note and i wouldn't have any problem getting charges removed removed--but theysaid there was no record of that on her notes.one rep told me i was charged if i saved pictures on my phone?? it has been one story after another--all different.

We all know about that "fine print shit"; the stuff these shithead corporations draw on when things go bad. They were quick to tell me, that (our little problem) was covered in the "agreement, despite what the hell the jerk at the AT&T store verbally conveyed to me. Subsequently, numerous other charges (were) credited to my account.
Large entities depend on this blown-out-of-proportion printed rhetoric, to blind the public/consumer with brilliance - while they baffle them with bull shit. The fact is, we (the consumer) are long overdue for an agreement of our own - one that (they) must sign, to obtain our business. I'm currently drafting one; I'll post it when it's done.
